Hey ladies and gents! Mind helping me out with suggestions? Im looking for a 13-15 inch laptop (15 is fine, but 14 seems like a good balance of portability and screen size). Id like great speakers for music, a nice screen bc i watch a lot of videos and great battery life so I don't have to be stuck to a desk. User upgradeable ram and/or storage, or 16gb ram with 512gb memory. Usb C charger is king, but regular is ok. I play Among Us a lot. USB A port, headphone jack, and usb c ports are ideal. Less than $1500, so i can hopefully catch a really good one kn sale for around $1000. Gimme some laptops to look at!

Would the exhaust of the rear side damage the Screen?? The display gets quite hot which is shown in the video via heat cam ??? Help !!!

Was nearly perfect, as I can dismiss the lack of brightness and vibrancy, but then I found out it's 165 hz. 😴 I'm not going to get 165 FPS in Apex, Monster Hunter, or other games I'll play. I'm not looking for inconsistency. Give me 120 hz please D: All these companies installing 240hz & 300hz panels are mistaken. Few to no games are optimized enough to achieve these frame rates.

The soldered RAM really sucks, especially on the 3070 model. It seriously gimps future-proofing. If the RAM was fully upgradeable with both slots, up to 64 or even just 32, it would be totally spot on. What really ticks me off though is that Asus addresses this issue by making it even worse by only offering 16gb on the 3070 model. They could've had the ideal laptop had they played it right. I think if the Legion 5 Pro is comparably priced, it'll be the much better option with fully upgradeable, non-soldered RAM and more of a Max-P configuration. I suppose the Zeph G15 will still be an option if the portability is the most important factor but I'll take the performance over the portability.

Do you think that the Aorus 15G can compete for the laptop of the year spot as well?

I don't understand you guys. For me, whatever laptop that has a "max-q" gpu version is immediately discarded. A laptop RTX 3060 beats laptop RTX 3070 max-q. This asus laptop has a nice processor, nice quality and everything... Except the GPU. Why Asus?

Thanks for the review as always. I plan on getting a laptop for games such as Call Of Duty and Apex Legends. I also plan on gaming 75% of the time. How’s the heat management? And do you feel that getting a 1440p will add to that as well? I had a Razer a couple years ago and that thing was scolding hot. I’m debating on either this or the lates HP Omen. Thanks for any input or thoughts.

Your RAM comment is innacurate, I have the white G15 and it came with 16GB RAM, I ran the Crucial RAM scanner and it said I could take out the removable 8GB and add 32GB in its place. I did this for £150 and now have 40GB RAM - it’s the best laptop I’ve ever bought, but buy one with lower RAM and save hundreds by upgrading it yourself.

Hey Great videos, super helpful. I got lucky and picked one of these up on BB, but I do have one (literally only one) fatal issue with it that I'd like to share... maybe important to you or some viewers. Hooking up a Valve Index via the USB 3.2/Displayport connection does NOT fully work. Even though the connection bypasses the IGP, I am losing consistent frames and constant stuttering makes this computer a deal-breaker at this point. Ive contacted ASUS/Valve, for possible fixes and have gotten nowhere. could be a simple Nvidia/USB driver issue because the port has the horsepower obviously. The cable matters USB/Displayport connector works fine on my desktop coming out of an Nvidia 2080ti, so that's not the issue either, and yes all of the ASUS Aura lighting effects and any other BS background processes were stopped/uninstalled. SO although I LOVE this laptop, and hate to even write this, I am returning it. I have no choice because I do a lot of VR. Does anyone have the same issue? or a fix? as a major noob in the gaming laptop market, what does Dave mean at 4:20 when he says that you're forced to play at 1440p? Can you really not downgrade resolution in game like on PC?

I got the similar one Asus Zephyrus g15 GA2xx unit but concern is that my usb mic is not working/compatible on this unlike on Hp omen dc series. I used my usb mic for recording and streaming and it has a audio monitor so no need to plug new jack for audio. I want to try that on Asus but i didn't know how to do that. Any suggestions?

Hey Dave, I know you looked at the scar15 already. but have you looked at the asus ROG strix g15 2021 version with 3070 and amd chips? would like to hear your opinions on that.

Asus need to improve the build quality and feel of the their lineups especially the G14 and G15+a webcam+ 500 nits brightness+ better quality control. This laptop is the closest to the perfect thin and light gaming/ productivity laptop.

Just purchased me a g15 with a 3070 rtx, 24gb RAM, 1TB SSD, also settle for windows 10 home. Was curious to know if I should upgrade to windows 10 pro? Casual gamer, day trader as an occupation so I look at a bunch of charts at any given time. Also note sure if windows 10 home has remote access to work with a vps. Hoping someone can help me out. Anyway looking forward to unleashing this bad boy.

I have the Best Buy version (3070 with 16gb ram) and my top right speaker has no sound coming out of it. I thought my right ear was actually plugged for a while, lol. Do you know if there are any software issues that could be causing this? I really don't want to have to return this thing... The other three speakers work and sound just fine, but the top right one is completely dead.
