Great Video Dave! Quick question, would you consider this over the Razer Blade 15 2021 3070rtx? I know it is a bit morr expensive but that it isn't a problem personally. My biggest concern is overall reliability because there is not Zero support from Asus and Razer in my country. Basically, someone is buying the laptop from USA and bring it to my country. So, I won't be able to return it neither. I am looking for a very solid and reliable gaming laptop mostly for work and some single player gaming like GTA V and maybe Cyberpunk. I would really appreciate your opinion. Thank you

I read comments that said it was prone to show signs of wear quickly. I wish razer would have integrated the ryzen 9 this year. I really want macbook pro build and sound quality in a high end gaming laptop.

Thanks to you, I got one. I like it so far. The RAM limitation having one soldered and only one swappable is annoying. Luckily, I didn't have the speaker issue some people reported, but ASUS may have to do a better QC job. One quirk I still can't figure out is that when connected to an external monitor (HDMI) and having the lid closed, the laptop would go to sleep on its own at random times, even with it plugged in. I've observed anything between 30 to 60 minutes runtime, sometimes more, before it goes to sleep on its own. I've looked at the power settings, and made sure it won't go to sleep when plugged in. Is there any other place/settings I should check? Re: print screen, Fn+F6 brings up Windows' Win+Shift+S screen capture tool.

ASUS quality control for their laptops is dodgy and their after sale support is among the worst IF not the worst. Honestly until ASUS addresses these issues I do not recommend jumping the gun now on their laptops.

Does the panel scooping under to prop it up make it uncomfortable to use this laptop on your, you know, lap? It looks like it would dig in above my knees. It sounds like I really don't need a 3080, unless I want more than 24GB of RAM, and I might. But I definitely don't want the white model. Can you get the 3080 in gray? Do you have to crack it open to get the 3070 model to 24GB, or is it possible to order it pre-configured? Shame the only purchase link is to Amazon; I really try not to support them any more. Best Buy shows both FHD and QHD models, it looks like FHD uses a different GPU.

I have the Asus ROG Strix G15 with RTX 3070 and gotta say I love it. It looks good, performs amazingly, only thing I dislike is that the material of the laptop smudges pretty easily and feels rather difficult to clean. But everything, from the screen to port placements to trackpad to performance to build quality, it all feels great.

"Having the higher resolution screen can be a bit of a disadvantage" no, it really can't. Every one of the games you tested has a render resolution slider, just use that if 1440p is too heavy to run. Having the option of running at 1440p is objectively better than NOT having it.

I have been a laptop gamer for 10+ years now, the weight of the laptop does not bother me at all. Is this something that bothers people? I take my laptop to my friends all the time, I have a ruck sake, lifting it up is nothing and once it is on my back, it is hardly even noticeable. I would for sure, have a more chunky laptop that provides more power and better stats. Having a heavy laptop with better stats is better than having a lighter laptop which under performs.

I am so torn on this one, I need to replace my gaming laptop but I need a thunderbolt3 and currently none of the new AMD laptops come with Thunderbolt3. I wouldn't miss the webcam that much but it would be nice to have the Windows Hello option which I use on all my other devices.

Personally I like my bottom left control key wider. So I would take the gs66. Right now in the UK u can buy the old model ( with 2060) for £1.3k for the performance I'll get and the price it's probably one of my top choices. There is definitely better options. The g15 is very expensive a cool 1.7k-1.8k it's portable and has great performance. But I hardly ever need to take my laptop around unless I go on vacation and I happen to have hw to do in the meantime

Battery life honestly isn't that big of a deal for me. I don't really expect to be using it for very long periods of time anywhere where I don't have access to an electrical outlet.

For me, with all respect, a laptop should have a potential like from a desktop (especially the keyboard layout with numpad, seen on ones with 15.6" or bigger displays), but on your lap. What you're looking for, or aiming at, is a notebook (max size should be until 14" display, and with that kind of keyboard layout you're showing off), which is more practical and mostly like mobile/tablet-ish powered but with fan. That's the difference I think should be stated.

My next laptop will be the Lenovo Legion Slim, waiting for the newest Intel cpu or with AMD Ryzen, Never Asus again. Asus bang for your buck is great, but my previous ROG had problems with the battery, almost impossible to replace, a nightmare to open, clean, and maintain. Plus typing on Asus keyboards is meh, not great.
